Sometimes accounts fall behind. Transactions get miscoded, reconciliations are left unfinished, payroll isn’t set up quite right, or issues have quietly accumulated over time without anyone noticing.
A Chisel Catch-Up brings your records back to a clean, accurate position — so you can move forward with confidence and a solid foundation for ongoing bookkeeping and compliance.
Catch-Ups are scoped from the findings of a Chisel Check Up, so there are no surprises on cost and the work is targeted at exactly what needs fixing.
Not sure if you need a Catch-Up? A Chisel Check Up will tell you exactly what’s in your file and what needs to be addressed.
Bookkeeping issues rarely announce themselves. They build up gradually — a reconciliation that never quite balanced, GST coded incorrectly across dozens of transactions, payroll settings that were never quite right from the start. By the time it’s obvious something is wrong, there’s often more to untangle than expected.
A Chisel Catch-Up addresses issues systematically, in the right order, so the end result is a file that’s accurate, reconciled, and ready for ongoing maintenance.

Every Catch-Up is scoped from the findings of a Chisel Check Up. You'll know exactly what needs to be done and what it will cost before we begin.

We work through issues methodically using the Pure Bookkeeping system — not a rushed patch-up, but a proper correction that holds.

The goal isn't just to fix the past. It's to leave the file in a state where ongoing bookkeeping is straightforward, compliant, and reliable.
A Catch-Up follows a Chisel Check Up. The Check Up identifies what’s wrong and where, and we scope the Catch-Up from those findings. That way the work is targeted and the cost is clear before anything begins.
It depends on the condition of the file and how far back the issues go. Some Catch-Ups are straightforward and resolved quickly. Others involving multiple periods or complex issues take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeframe as part of the scope.
Catch-Ups are billed in 10-hour blocks, prepaid before work commences. Once we’ve completed the Check Up and have a clear picture of the file, we’ll give you our best assessment of the scope and how many hours we expect it to take. We can’t guarantee a fixed price — the nature of correction work means unexpected issues sometimes surface — but we won’t start a new block without letting you know first.
Yes. Once the file is in a clean, accurate state, we can discuss what ongoing support makes sense — whether that’s bookkeeping, BAS, payroll, or a combination.
If another bookkeeper is currently active in your file, a Catch-Up isn’t the right fit — working in a shared file creates too much risk of conflicting changes and makes it impossible to guarantee the accuracy of the work. However, we can still complete a Chisel Check Up, which gives you an independent, objective review of your file and a written report of what’s accurate and what isn’t. What you do with that information is entirely up to you.
